American Savings Bank hosted a statewide Drive-Thru Turkey event for its 1,100 teammates across the state on Sunday, November 21, as part of its annual Teammate Appreciation Month festivities.
“Since the onset of the pandemic, our ASB Dream Team has gone above and beyond to help our customers and our community get through some of their most difficult times financially,” said Beth Whitehead, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of ‘ASB. “We are happy to celebrate and recognize our teammates and provide them with this free turkey that they can enjoy with their loved ones while on vacation.”
Teammates from each of the five islands served by ASB participated in the Turkey Drive-Thru event, featuring the bank management team dressed in fun turkey costumes. As a bonus, ASB handed out randomly selected “Golden Turkeys” to 20 lucky teammates who won an additional $ 200 gift card to brighten up their vacation.
Over the past 20 months, ASB’s 1,100 teammates have relentlessly helped clients, including helping secure $ 540 million in Paycheck Protection Program loans for more than 6,300 Hawaiian businesses, which helped to preserve around 64,000 local jobs.
All turkey leftovers from the event were donated to local non-profit charities.
