If your mobile number is registered in your savings account, you can track all transactions. In addition, you will also be notified immediately when an unauthorized transaction takes place in your bank account. It is mandatory to have your mobile registered in the savings account of the State Bank of India (SBI) to take advantage of Internet Banking. If your mobile number is not registered, here are three ways to do the same.

How to update the mobile number via SBI Internet Banking

• Log on to www.onlinesbi.com

• Navigate to “Profile-Personal details-Edit mobile number.” under “My Accounts”, appearing on the left panel of the screen.

• On the next page, select the account number, enter the mobile number and click Submit.

• The last 2 digits of the registered mobile number (not modifiable) are displayed.

• The status of the mapping will be indicated to you on your registered mobile number.

How to update mobile number via SBI Branch

• Visit your nearest SBI branch.

• Complete a letter of request

• Submit the letter above.

• After necessary verification, the coupling will be carried out by the agency.

• You will receive an SMS on your registered mobile number regarding the update status.

How to update mobile number via SBI ATM

• Visit your nearest ATM

• Select the recording option from the available options

• Enter your ATM PIN code

• Select the Registration of the mobile number option among the options visible on the screen.

• Select the Change mobile number option from the options visible on the screen.

• You will be asked to enter your old mobile number and confirm it.

• Post on which you will be asked to enter the new mobile number and confirm it

• Different OTPs will be sent to new and old mobile numbers with the following message:

• Please send the OTP and the reference number received by SMS from a new mobile number as well as an existing telephone number in the following format ACTIVATE IOTP VALUE + REF NUMBER TO 567676 within 4 hours

• Your mobile number will be updated

How to check the update request

Once the approval of the change of mobile number is given, a customer can view the status of the request.

Log in to OnlineSBI.

Go to the ‘Profile’ tab.

Click on the “Personal details” link.

The display name, e-mail ID and mobile phone number registered in online banking will be displayed.

Click on the hyperlink “Change mobile phone number – Domestic only (via OTP / ATM / Contact center)”.

A new screen, “Personal details-Update mobile number” with three tabs “Create request”, “Cancel request” and “Status” will appear.

Click on the “Status” tab to view the current status (Pending / Success) of your mobile phone number change request through online banking.
