Machias Savings Bank Announces $25,000 “YES!” » Grants to Nonprofit Organizations in Coastal Maine

Machias Savings Bank today announced the recipients of the second round of grants under its “YES!” Grant program, designed to support statewide nonprofits and charities that help move Maine forward. During the year 2022, the “YES! Grant will provide $100,000 to organizations that refuse to take ‘no’ for an answer to help others succeed.

Machias Savings Bank has awarded grants of $5,000 to each of the following organizations:

Bagaduce River Equine Rescue
Window dressers
Pantry for breads and fish
Hikers
Orientation schools

During this round of voting, Maineans were encouraged to vote for their favorite nonprofits in Hancock, Waldo, Knox, Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties. The recipients listed above received the most votes from attendees.

The bank has already awarded $25,000 in grants to organizations in the North and Southeast Maine area this year and will award an additional $25,000 to local nonprofits each quarter. Quarter 3 focuses on the southern region and Quarter 4 is open to those in central Maine.

“It was fantastic to see another overwhelming response from people across the state supporting their favorite nonprofits on this ballot,” said Melissa Denbow, vice president, head of community experience at Machias Savings Bank. “We are thrilled to be able to support each of these wonderful organizations and the important work they do.”
