The Newtown Savings Bank elected Douglas Wade, Jr. as its new corporator at the Bank’s Annual Meeting held at Waterview in Monroe.

Wade, a resident of Shelton, is the fourth generation president of Wade’s Dairy, a family business based in Bridgeport.

“We are thrilled to welcome each of these exceptional individuals to our roster of companies,” said Ken Weinstein, president and CEO of Newtown Savings Bank.

In addition to their governance role within the framework of the Bank’s mutualist charter, the companies act as ambassadors to the Bank’s communities.

Wade serves on the boards of Bridgeport Regional Business Council, Council of Churches of Greater Bridgeport, Fairfield Half Marathon, Juneteenth of Fairfield County and Housatonic Community College.

He actively supports St. Vincent’s Swim Across the Sound Foundation and Alpha Community Services and coordinates the distribution of food boxes every Saturday morning from his facility to families in need through a drive-up operation.
