PTPTN launches a new national education savings scheme

The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) is committed to continuing to transform the mindset of parents to save early for their children’s future educational needs and reduce reliance on student loans.

To this end, PTPTN has launched a new product: Simpan SSPN (National Education Savings Plan) Plus.

Simpan SSPN Plus is a continuation of SSPN-i Plus – introduced on June 8, 2015 – which has been improved and received a new look with various privileges and benefits for depositors.

“The launch of Simpan SSPN Plus is timely and in line with the PTPTN’s strategic plan to effectively manage savings funds,” CEO Ahmad Dasuki Abdul Majid said during its virtual launch, which was broadcast live on Facebook.

“It is the best cornerstone for the company to continue saving for children’s higher education while enjoying more privileges and benefits offered.

“Parents are the main pillar in achieving their children’s ambitions and PTPTN will continue to help you achieve your goals,” he said.

Filers have the choice of selecting one of PTPTN’s strategic partners from among three Takaful operators – Hong Leong MSIG Takaful Bhd, Great Eastern Takaful Bhd and Takaful Ikhlas Family Bhd – for this new product.

Simpan SSPN Plus offers six attractive and affordable plans for parents, ranging from as low as RM30 to RM500 per month, and there is no need for a medical exam.

Depositors will be able to enjoy various privileges and benefits including takaful protection up to RM 1.2 million, terminal illness coverage up to RM 200,000, up to RM 10,000 for corps delivery service , a maximum of RM3,000 for outpatient treatment due to accident and coverage up to the age of 69.

From 2015 to July 31 of this year, Ahmad Dasuki said that more than 690,000 SSPN-i Plus accounts have been opened with a total of RM752 million.

Along with the launch of the new product, PTPTN unveiled its Cabutan Wow! Simpan SSPN Plus 2021 which offers attractive prizes worth almost 320,000 RM for 221 winners.
