The Day – Friends & Neighbors: New CEO appointed at Essex Savings Bank

The Essex Savings Bank Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Diane Arnold, formerly Senior Vice President and Chief Loan Officer of Essex Savings Bank, as Chief Executive Officer.

The appointment took effect on August 1.

Arnold began her banking career in 1983 and worked in various departments at two different banks before joining Essex Savings in 2002. During her 19 years at the bank, she was particularly influential in developing the commercial loan portfolio and in mentoring many people.

She has been involved in several community organizations for many years and in 2017 received a Women of Fire award, recognizing key female leaders in finance, insurance and real estate.

Arnold received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Quinnipiac College and is also a graduate of the Connecticut School of Finance and Management.

Ms Arnold said: “As a community bank, we have a key role to play in supporting individuals and businesses located in our market area. I look forward to leading the Bank forward in the years to come, while building on our strong 170-year history.

Essex Savings Bank is a state-chartered, FDIC-insured mutual savings bank established in 1851. The bank serves the Connecticut River Valley and Coastline with offices in Essex, Chester, Madison, Old Lyme and Old Saybrook.
