Thomaston Savings Bank plans to open a second Farmington branch in a former bank building at 2 South Main St.
Thomaston Savings filed August 23 with the State Banking Department to establish the branch, its 15th overall.
Stephen Lewis, President and CEO of Thomaston Savings Bank, said in an email that the ongoing interior and exterior renovations “will provide an exceptional customer experience to align the building with Thomaston Savings Bank’s unique brand and heritage. distinctive architectural feature of Unionville”.
Thomaston Savings is one of the three smallest banks to have opened Farmington branches in the past two years, filling a void created after Farmington Bank was acquired by People’s United Bank.
Thomaston Savings opened its first Farmington branch at 155 Scott Swamp Road in winter 2019 and is looking forward to the expansion, Lewis said.
“We have built many strong relationships with individuals, families, businesses and the community,” he said. “We are strongly committed to remaining a mutual community bank because we believe it provides the best way forward” to serve the Farmington community.
Lewis said the new branch will serve retail and business banking customers and will include a dedicated commercial lender, residential lender and financial advisor from Infinex.
